Doubleday Bookshop: North Pier
In this Doubleday Bookshop, BSBA carefully preserved the original turn-of-the-century architectural details, but added deep greens and reds and dark mahogany paneling reminiscent of an old library. The large curved counter reminds the browser of a circulation desk. Overhead bookcases have been eliminated at the existing square wood columns to show the structure of this renovated warehouse, located on Chicago's North Pier.
